Booklet 2 – Opening Office
After arrival in Aberdeen sometime in about 1877 or 78, John Wardle had a number of offices in the centre of Aberdeen to work from. Some were inside other shops, some were upstairs. Here is a flyer advertising one such move. Whether it was the first is not known.
Eventually, he set up a workshop in Hardgate just south of Aberdeen’s Union Street, in the midst of other craftsmen (furniture makers, metal-workers and others) whose services he probably used as part of his organ building, These workshops remained open until his death in 1941
